Dr. Maxime Paris

Maxime has a solid background in agricultural biotechnology and holds a B.Sc. in Botanical Sciences from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Genetics from Murdoch University (Western Australia). His research currently focuses on the genetic diversity, characterization, and improvement of cannabis, with an interest on qualitative, quantitative, and disease-resistance traits. Maxime is participating to the development of a highly diversified and well-characterized cannabis gene bank by introducing and maintaining cannabis varieties in EXKA’s clonal germplasm repository. Maxime also plays an advisory and supervisory role in multiple cannabis research projects. His prior research focused on the development and optimization of high-throughput methods for marker-assisted plant breeding, focusing on malting quality and disease resistance of barley.
